Greater Mauston Tourism Association Launches All-New Area App to Connect Locals and Visitors with the Best of Juneau County

Mauston, WI — May 23, 2025 — The Greater Mauston Tourism Association (GMTA) is thrilled to announce the launch of a brand-new mobile app designed to showcase everything Juneau County has to offer. From local businesses and scenic trails to community events and outdoor adventures, the new app brings together everything people love about our area—outdoor recreation, community spirit, and small-town charm. It aims to be the go-to digital resource for both residents and visitors exploring the Mauston area.

What’s Inside the App?

The app includes a comprehensive listing of:

  • Local businesses, restaurants, salons, shops, and services

  • Parks, trails, lakes, and other outdoor recreation

  • Hotels, campgrounds, and EV charging stations

  • Agritourism experiences, farm stands, and seasonal attractions

  • Weather updates, local maps, and more

  • A robust community calendar featuring local events (submit yours to Tourism@mauston.com)

Users can easily “favorite” their go-to spots with a simple tap on the star icon—no login required.

For Businesses:

Businesses across Juneau County can manage their own listings by contacting GMTA at Tourism@mauston.com. With access, they can:

  • Update hours, photos, and web links

  • Get a personalized QR code to promote their listing

  • Send push notifications to users who’ve favorited their business

  • Add features like reservation links and service info

Future features will include “passport-style” challenges and games to encourage exploration of the area.

This innovative project is funded by the Greater Mauston Tourism Association through room tax dollars designated for promoting tourism. It aligns with GMTA’s mission:
